Directions from Billings at the top of Zimmerman Trail

Go north on Highway 3 to Lavina.  Turn right on Highway 12 towards Roundup.  Travel 6 miles and turn right on Dean Creek Road.  Travel 4.9 miles and keep straight onto Homestead Road.  Follow that road 2.5 miles to Coyote Creek Road, but keep straight about 0.3 miles and there will be a sign on your left next to the gate.

DO NOT use Mapquest or similar sites from Billings to the field as it usually will give you directions onto a road that doesn’t exist. 

 
Directions shortcut
Go north on Highway 3 to Broadview.  Turn right onto 21 Mile Rd.   Follow that and turn left on Swarts Road (dirt road from this point to the field).  Follow that and turn right on Dailey Rd.  Drive to the Musselshell County sign and turn left on that road (There is a sign that says road not maintained, this is not true, usually).  Follow this road for several miles and the field will be on your right.

This route is sometimes not recommended because weather conditions (snow, heavy rain, etc.) can make it not passable.
